Halloween Wedding

I know it may sound a bit weird, but a Halloween wedding can be a real treat. To create a perfect Halloween ambience for your wedding all you need is a dash of theatricality, a hint of Victorian mystique, and some majorly glam makeup! Here are some ideas you may want to consider for your Halloween Wedding:

• To set the mood, host your wedding in a Victorian mansion, a Gothic Cathedral (or castle), or even outdoors in some ruins overlooking the misty forest.

• Evoke a Halloween mood by choosing red, orange, black, white, gold and silver as your wedding colors. Consider hanging creepy chandeliers, and light plenty of candles for that spooky effect.

• Calla lilies and roses work great for a Halloween wedding; choose red, black, ivory, white, plum or orange. Add dried branches, black feathers or peacock feathers to add interest and texture.

• The Halloween theme is more fully carried out at the reception site. Consider giving each female attendant a hand-held mask. The men in the wedding party can also wear a half face mask. The bride and groom each can have very elaborately designed masks. I think it is a great idea that goes very well in this setting.

• As decorations consider painting gourds and small pumpkins in your wedding colors and then finish them off with gold paint on the stems. Place them all around in baskets and groups as a rustic halloweeny detail.

• You can add illuminated pumpkins to the entrance walkway, gift table, entry way table, seating chart table or food stations. Consider using black tablecloths, orange napkins and if possible large silver candelabras. Organ music or classical music works great for a Halloween theme.

• Do a photo booth (seems to be the new trend) but give it a Halloween/costume party flair by providing some cool backdrops and a bunch of spooky accessories and props to use in the photos.

• Consider renting a cotton candy machine to go with the candy table and have it make orange cotton candy, and other Halloween colors.

• For favors, have Halloween treat bags prepared and left at each place setting for your guests with a note from you and your groom.

Enchanting your guests with your Halloween wedding theme will be a lot of fun.
